Step into a rewarding role supporting students at the elementary level as a Special Education Teacher in a contract position beginning February 2026 and concluding in June 2026. This opportunity calls for a dedicated professional to serve children with autism, utilizing a compassionate approach and evidence-based practices. The assignment takes place in a structured, supportive school setting with predictable hours and a balanced workday.

Qualifications:
  • Current Delaware Special Education Teaching license (required; please submit as a PDF with your resume)
  • Experience working with students diagnosed with autism or related exceptionalities preferred
  • Strong classroom management, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs
  • Willingness to complete CBC fingerprinting at candidate's expense ($85; confirmation of awareness and agreement required)
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and behavioral support to elementary students with autism within a specialized classroom
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
  • Employ data-driven decision making to track student progress and adjust teaching approaches
  • Collaborate regularly with parents, therapists, and fellow educators to foster student growth and inclusion
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations and documentation requirements
This contract role features a stable Monday through Friday schedule, 8:25 am to 3:55 pm, including a paid lunch, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
