DEFINITION
Administer all aspects of the NC Edge, Customized Training Program, and corporate training including developing, delivering and coordinating site-specific training to businesses and industries in New Hanover and Pender counties. Promote programs to CFCC faculty/staff, the public, and business and industry leaders and develop a strong portfolio of business partners. Coordinate assigned activities with other college departments, divisions and outside agencies and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Senior Director of Workforce Development.
SUPERVISIONRECEIVED AND EXERCISED
- Receives general supervision from the Senior Director of Apprenticeships and Workforce Partnerships.
- Supervise appropriate support staff and instructors
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Meet with corporate and industry leaders to identify needs related to Customized Training
- Recruit, interview, evaluate, and hire continuing education instructors; develop and draft instructor contracts; prepare necessary materials for instructors
- Assess industry training requirements, budget and scheduling constraints to design appropriate and effective training programs for Customized Training
- Schedule classes at CFCC and off-site locations
- Participate in economic development activities with regional economic development organizations
- Work with Marketing to develop outreach materials for corporate training
- Prepare required compliance documentation
- Follow-up with clients in terms of customer satisfaction and additional training needs.
- Prepare reports and schedules necessary to execute and complete programs for NC Edge
- Follow through and carry out required rules and regulations as set by CFCC, the North Carolina Community College System office, the Department of Labor, NC Works and the Department of Commerce
- Prepare clear and concise reports; interpret and apply federal, state and local policies, procedures, laws and regulations as required
- Maintain mental capacity, which allows the capability to: make sound decisions, demonstrate intellectual capabilities; respond to questions, evaluate the effectiveness of programs and people
- Develop and maintain a working and professional relationship with area employers, students, partnering agencies, college staff and the general public
- Using MS Office or Google Suite prepare a variety of regular emails and documents including general correspondence, agendas, reports, class schedules, forms, certificates, contracts, and memos.
- Assist with identifying opportunities for improving service delivery, guidelines and procedures
- Maintain files for compliance with State and Federal guidelines and auditing regulations
- May be asked to teach Workforce Development classes as needed
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Organizational and management practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of programs, policies and operational needs

- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Supervise and evaluate instructors
- Work independently in the absence of direct supervision
- Plan, organize and direct projects, workshops, seminars and other special educational events
