SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

Odyssey Charter School is a full‑scale K‑12 Charter School currently serving 2,300 students. The school offers a dual Greek language immersion program, an innovative green initiative, community food program, and high academic outcomes. The mission is to prepare lifelong learners who are culturally aware, global citizens using critical thinking and problem‑solving skills grounded in the classical teachings of Greek education and language.

Job SummaryThe School Psychologist collaborates with the school community to determine students’ educational needs, provide recommendations for interventions and supports, and participate in the school’s Multi‑tiered System of Supports. Responsibilities include conducting psycho educational evaluations, functional behavioral assessments, coordinating behavioral supports, providing counseling, consulting with staff, families, and outside agencies, and designing and implementing intervention techniques to improve the educational experience.
Minimum Requirements- At least 1 year of experience as a school psychologist (3 years preferred)
- Experience working in an urban school environment
- Outstanding record of supporting teachers, students, and families to elevate student achievement in an urban classroom, with a strong understanding of pedagogy that drives results.
- Ed.S., MA or Ph.D. in School Psychology
- Eligible for State of Delaware Standard Certification as a School Psychologist
- Valid Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) Certificate from the NASP
- Knowledge of roles and functions of a School Psychologist in an educational setting
- Experience with Multi‑tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and knowledge of federal and state regulations
- Experience with Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavior Support Plan development, manifestation review determinations and collaborative problem‑solving
- Conduct psycho educational evaluations to determine eligibility for special education, including cognitive and achievement testing and adaptive and social/emotional measures, meeting all School and State of Delaware deadlines
- Support MTSS, including consultation with the Problem‑Solving team members in reviewing student response to interventions
- Evaluate the intellectual, academic, behavioral, perceptual‑motor skills, emotional adjustment and readiness for learning of students
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and assist in developing Behavior Support Plans
- Provide individual and small group counseling supports using research‑based techniques
- Provide professional development to relevant staff on behavior and classroom management, mental health and social emotional learning, and academic learning supports
- Serve as a member of the School Crisis Intervention Team
- Perform other related duties as assigned
