Career And Technical Education (Cte) Cad - High School
Career and Technical Education (CTE) CAD teacher plans, implements, and provides instruction in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and related technical skills, preparing students for careers in design, engineering, and related fields. The teacher's role involves curriculum development, hands-on instruction, student assessment, and collaboration with industry professionals. They also ensure students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, which are essential for success in the modern workplace.
Position Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development and Instruction:
Develop and implement standards-based curriculum aligned with regional workforce needs and industry standards. - Hands-On Instruction:
Provide students with hands-on experience in CAD software and design principles, emphasizing real-world applications. - Student Assessment:
Assess student learning and provide feedback to promote student growth and achievement. - Classroom Management:
Maintain a positive and productive learning environment that fosters student engagement and respect. - Collaboration:
Collaborate with industry professionals, other teachers, and administrators to enhance the program and align it with current industry needs. - Professional Development:
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in CAD software and design techniques through continuous professional development. - Career Counseling:
Guide students in exploring their career interests and making informed choices about their future education and career paths. - Workplace Safety:
Ensure a safe and secure learning environment by demonstrating and supervising proper use of equipment and materials.
Additional Skills and
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works) and design principles and/or willing to get trained.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
- Experience in a related field (e.g., architecture, engineering, graphic design, mathematics, or science).
Minimum Qualifications:
Below are the qualifications for this position:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree and hold or be eligible for a Delaware educator certificate in Technology Education, Physics, Physical Science, Secondary Mathematics, or Skilled and Technical Sciences (STS) Engineering and Technology.
