Elementary Teacher

Baltz Elementary School is seeking an elementary general teacher to create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; and to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.

Essential duties and responsibilities include teaching elementary education to elementary students, planning a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students, creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students, preparing for classes assigned, encouraging students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior, assessing the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and providing reports as required, diagnosing the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis, taking all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities, maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation, and working cooperatively with all staff and parents.

Qualifications include initial, continuing or advanced Delaware licensure certified in K-6, certification in special education (preferred).
