Qualifications and
Experience:
- Valid certification to teach Special Education in K-12 settings (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred, though motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong understanding of the IEP process and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and student advocacy
Role Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum materials to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress
- Track student growth, keep accurate records, and regularly communicate progress to stakeholders
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages academic, social, and emotional growth
