The Program Manager oversees the development, implementation, and management of programs related to Rodel’s priority area of Amplifying Educator Impact. This role is critical to strategically build out Rodel’s technical assistance capacity on high-quality, human-centered projects that align with our organization’s equity commitment and benefit educators, students, and schools. The Program Manager brings demonstrated experience designing, building, and implementing complex initiatives at both the school and systems levels, working directly alongside partners to drive meaningful change.
They are skilled at navigating difficult conversations with candor and care, always in service of what is best for students and educators. This role requires a strong combination of leadership, project management, public education expertise, and collaboration skills to ensure the success of initiatives with partners across the state.
While we value candidates with expertise across a broad range of educator workforce issues, we are specifically prioritizing candidates with significant experience in teacher leadership and educator workforce strategy. This role will serve as a key driver of our Amplifying Educator Impact agenda, advancing efforts to elevate educator voice, expand leadership opportunities for teachers, and strengthen the conditions that enable educators to thrive and maximize their impact on students.
The role will also lead and support high-priority initiatives focused on building a more diverse, culturally responsive, and effective educator workforce, including efforts to attract, prepare, hire, grow, and retain educators—particularly educators of color. Additional areas of focus may include strategic staffing models, educator recruitment and retention strategies, and initiatives designed to increase the representation, success, and long-term retention of educators of color.
Build Student- and Educator-Centered Programs
- In collaboration with Program Director contribute to development, design, and sustainability of program strategy, implementation, and evaluation;
- Support the Program Director in building out Rodel’s technical assistance capacity to support the creative implementation and design of initiatives across the state.
- Develop and actively manage comprehensive project plans that advance equity and student achievement and align to programmatic vision.
- Monitor project progress and assess outcomes using data-driven and human-centered approaches, making necessary adjustments to achieve the collective vision, mission, and desired results.
- Research and analyze emerging trends, research, and developments in public education to create innovative program ideas and enhance existing projects.
- In partnership with the Program Director, identify and manage outside contractors and coaches, as needed, to support the successful implementation of projects.
- Develop the capacity of partners to sustain and own work beyond the life of Rodel’s support.
- Center work on the needs of students and educators.
- Thoughtfully design and facilitate human-centered one-on-one, small group, and large group meetings with a culture of inclusivity and belonging that embraces the contributions of partners.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners, including but not limited to educators, students, and school leaders, to co-design initiatives and provide critical thought partnership.
- Identify potential new partnerships and areas of work in service of Rodel’s mission and to grow our impact across the state.
- Work with the Program Director to develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve program goals.
- Identify funding opportunities and support grant writing and fundraising efforts to sustain and expand educational initiatives.
- Experience working in schools and/or classroom settings is strongly preferred, with a demonstrated understanding of the opportunities and challenges educators face across the educator pipeline;
