Renewable Energy Specialist
Our utility client is seeking a Renewable Energy Specialist (Sr Interconnection Specialist) for their office in Wilmington, DE. A Renewable Energy Specialist at the mid-level is typically responsible for managing and coordinating renewable energy projects and initiatives. They work under the supervision of senior specialists or managers and may also provide guidance to junior team members. Responsibilities may include:
Assisting in the development and implementation of renewable energy strategies and plans. Managing renewable energy projects from inception to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution. Conducting research and analysis on renewable energy technologies, policies, and market trends. Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to advance renewable energy initiatives. Providing technical expertise and guidance on renewable energy technologies, policies, and best practices.
Monitoring and evaluating renewable energy projects to ensure compliance with goals, objectives, and regulations. Preparing and presenting reports, proposals, and recommendations to stakeholders and decision-makers. Supporting the development of renewable energy policies, regulations, and standards. Participating in industry conferences, workshops, and events to stay abreast of industry trends and developments. Collaborating with other departments and teams within the organization to integrate renewable energy into overall business strategies.

- Ability to interpret solar/interconnection information, identify discrepancies and understand regulatory or procedural requirements.
- Solar, renewable energy, utility or regulatory experience highly preferred
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities and move through the application process with minimal supervision.
- Think outside of the box, identifies opportunities for improvement, and takes initiative to resolve issues.
- Strong judgment and ability to research an issue and determine appropriate next steps.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer focused and able to professionally manage questions, escalation and difficult conversations.
- Collaborates effectively with customers, internal teams and other stakeholders.

Education Level/Type:

Experience:
Technical/Software, Excel, Power Bi, Analytics The ideal candidate thrives in a high volume, fast paced environment and can independently manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines. They are adaptable, detailed oriented, resourceful and strong critical thinker with the ability to quickly shift between tasks and learn beyond formal training or established job aides. They take ownership of their work, demonstrate initiative, and remain collaborative team player while delivering results.
