Senior Structural Engineer – Hybrid – USA

Arcadis is a leading provider of sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions. We seek an experienced Senior Structural Engineer (PE) to join our growing USA Structural Engineering Team.

This role provides senior technical leadership, ensuring alignment with client requirements, quality standards, and organizational goals. You will guide teams through complex engineering challenges, oversee technical deliverables, and drive continuous improvement in engineering practices.

• Serve as the primary technical authority for assigned engineering programs and initiatives.
• Exercise judgment on details of work and make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise and technical guidance to structural engineers; mentor and coach team members.
• Serve as Engineer of Record on projects to manage budgets and schedules, lead deliverables, and coordinate submission of projects.
• Collaborate with engineering disciplines, office/project staff, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project life cycle.
• Apply working knowledge of building codes and standards (IBC, ACI, AISC, etc.).
• Organize and conduct structural‑related engineering investigations, develop calculations, plans, specifications, proposals, and other contract documents.
• Check work of others for accuracy and completeness; manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
• Perform construction administration duties, including field observation reports, RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders.
• Travel for project‑related activities such as client meetings, charrettes, and site visits (approximately 20% within the U.S.).

• Minimum 10 years of relevant structural engineering experience within the United States.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure in the United States (multiple state licenses preferred).
• Requisite knowledge and application of structural design codes, standards, and applicable building codes.
• Strong knowledge of structural systems, wind and seismic design, construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/REVIT, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Risa, ETABS, and similar software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
