Position Summary
The Senior Project Engineer plays a critical role in field operations and project management across all phases of construction. As a key member of the project team, this role partners closely with project managers and superintendents while mentoring junior staff.
This position serves as a development pathway toward future leadership roles such as Project Manager or Construction Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead buy-out strategy and execution for assigned bid packages
- Prepare scopes of work
- Facilitate bid processes
- Evaluate submissions
- Conduct subcontractor scope review meetings
- Support final subcontractor selection
- Review design documents for constructability, clarity, and completeness
- Manage RFI workflows for assigned bid packages
- Oversee submittals to ensure design conformance and coordination across trades
- Monitor and manage bid package costs, including change negotiation and budget projections
- Support the daily resolution of field or coordination conflicts
- Serve as a mentor to Project Coordinators and junior engineering staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned

- Exceptional attention to detail with strong writing and proofreading skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities

- Comfortable interacting across all levels of the organization
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Construction Management
- Architectural Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering- OR - equivalent experience combined with ongoing professional education.
- 3-5 years' experience in construction management, engineering, or a related field (required)
- Previous project management experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with new construction projects preferred
