Electrical Designer
As an Electrical Designer, you will develop electrical load calculations for electrical equipment sizing, create drawings, and specify motor-control centers, switchboards, panel boards, and transformers. You will also be responsible for determining conduit and wiring sizing, developing room layouts, and establishing grounding and surge protection. Other tasks include creating schedules using CAD and Excel, editing CSI type specification for project manuals, and reviewing client submittals and product data sheets to determine electrical requirements.
An Associate's degree or equivalent from a college or technical school is required for this position, as well as design experience using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical. Experience in Revit is a plus.
We would also look for a solid understanding of Medium and Low Voltage, and of instrumentation such as flow meters, analyzers, and pressure transmitters. Our Designers need to read and understand engineering and construction drawings, and standard specifications.
Additional skills we find to be beneficial are in the areas of communication, problem-solving, and technical writing - plus, the ability to work with strict and competing deadlines on an ongoing basis.
Our Designers occasionally travel to client sites.
