Senior Mechanical Engineer

Constellation Energy seeks a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead complex mechanical design and reliability projects for power generation and energy systems. In this role, you will develop and optimize mechanical components and systems for utility-scale plants, perform advanced analysis (FEA, thermal, stress), and ensure compliance with industry codes and safety standards. You will guide concept through commissioning, troubleshoot plant equipment, manage vendors, and support root-cause investigations.

As a technical leader, you will mentor engineers, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive innovation that improves efficiency, sustainability, and asset performance across our fleet.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and analysis for power generation and energy systems
• Develop specifications, drawings, and technical documentation for mechanical equipment
• Perform advanced FEA, thermal, and stress analyses to validate designs
• Ensure designs comply with ASME, API, and utility industry codes and standards
• Drive root-cause analysis and reliability improvements for plant equipment
• Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems
• Manage and coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and EPC partners
• Identify and implement efficiency, reliability, and sustainability improvements
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver projects on time and within budget
