A global organization is seeking a Tax Director to build and lead its U.S. tax function during a transformative period of growth and integration. This is a highly strategic, high-visibility role designed for a leader who wants to create infrastructure, influence business decisions, and modernize tax operations—not simply maintain the status quo.
This is a fully remote opportunity with pre-planned quarterly travel to the Wilmington, DE headquarters. Candidates MUST be located in the Eastern or Central time zones.
What You’ll Lead- Develop and execute U.S. tax strategy across a complex domestic and international structure
- Identify opportunities for tax optimization while proactively managing risk and compliance
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on evolving tax regulations and business impacts
- Lead, mentor, and scale a U.S.
-based tax team - Establish processes, controls, and workflows that support long-term growth
- Drive continuous improvement and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture
- Oversee all aspects of federal, state, local, and indirect tax compliance
- Manage international tax reporting obligations including forms tied to foreign operations and cross-border activities
- Review tax accounting, provisions, deferred taxes, disclosures, forecasts, and budgeting activities
- Oversee shareholder-related tax calculations and reporting support
- Help design and implement a new tax operating model following organizational growth initiatives
- Partner with Tax Technology leadership to improve automation, reporting, and scalability
- Evaluate opportunities to transition work from external advisors to internal resources
- Enhance tax systems, reporting structures, and controls
- Lead tax audits and regulatory inquiries across multiple jurisdictions
- Partner closely with business unit finance leaders, shared services teams, auditors, and international tax groups
- Translate complex tax matters into practical guidance for non-tax stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- CPA strongly preferred;
Master’s in Taxation is a plus - 10–15 years of progressive U.S. tax experience across public accounting and/or industry
- Deep expertise in tax provisions and tax compliance
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams
- Experience with Corp Tax
- Exposure to tax automation, analytics, or process optimization tools preferred
