Job Summary

The Trust Officer Senior is a senior role with extensive knowledge of trust services and strong leadership skills. This position oversees account administration, ensuring client satisfaction of both trust beneficiaries and referring financial advisors in support of Trust business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
  • 5+ years Trust Officer experience.
  • Analyze complex situations or data requiring in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Develop, modify, and execute policies that affect immediate client operations and may impact the broader business unit or division.
  • Implement strategic policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results.
  • Change thinking or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations without damaging relationships.
  • Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
  • Establish operational objectives and work plans, delegating assignments to subordinates.
  • Participate in preliminary discovery of new business opportunities; perform administrative reviews; interact with Financial Advisors; coordinate with business development and document review to evaluate and determine appropriateness.
  • Perform account administration functions according to internal policies and procedures: account opening, account closing, monitoring investment objectives, overseeing fee charging and collection, annual account reviews, encroachment requests, and tax preparation.
  • Respond promptly to management, auditors, and bank examiners; proactively resolve problems, reconciliations, and account reviews.
  • Assist in training and developing trust administrators to ensure familiarity with accounts, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate and work effectively with all professional partners and co‑workers.
  • Master all systems involved with Trust account administration to ensure proper flow of opening, maintaining, and monitoring the business.
  • Other related duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications
  • Good working knowledge of all types of fiduciary relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and leadership orientation.
  • Ability to adapt easily to changing work environments.
  • CTFA (Certified Trust Financial Advisor) designation a plus.
