Tiedemann Trust Company is seeking a Tax Administrator to assist the Tax Accountant in maintaining excellence and operating an independent Tax Department.

The Tax Administrator will work closely with the outside tax preparers, including Ernst & Young, in preparation of fiduciary tax returns for all accounts of Tiedemann Trust Company.

In addition, the Tax Administrator will work with Tiedemann Trust Company’s Trust Officers and Trust Administrators to ensure that all tax matters for fiduciary accounts are addressed in a timely manner.

Moreover, the Tax Administrator will work autonomously, providing the Tax Accountant with capacity to serve at a high level in supporting Advisors, Fiduciary Counsel, and clients with nuanced tax matters.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the Tax Accountant in maintaining internal tax policies, procedures, and fiduciary tax compliance processes.
  • Process, file and initiate payments for trust returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments
  • Download, extract, and save tax documents and returns to client folders; organize estimated payment vouchers
  • Obtain signatures for e-file authorization forms, engagement letters, and powers of attorney
  • Prepare and file FBARs and Form 56’s
  • Maintain and track tax compliance spreadsheet.
  • Provide CPAs with signed e-file forms, engagement letters, and payment confirmations
  • Add and update new account and CPA information in client databases
  • Enroll new non-grantor trusts into EFTPS and e-filing systems
  • Process payments and distribute grantor letters and tax documents to grantors of 1099 accounts
  • Maintain certified mail slips and return receipt cards for compliance documentation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, equivalent direct related fiduciary tax administration experience will be considered
  • At least 5 years of experience in fiduciary tax administration, trust administration, tax compliance coordination, or related trust operations
  • Experience coordinating tax compliance activities, including the collection and organization of tax source documents, tax return processing, estimated tax payments, tax notices, and related compliance documentation
  • Working knowledge of fiduciary income tax returns, beneficiary K-1s, trust taxation and fiduciary tax compliance processes
  • Experience with Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients preferred
  • History of demonstrated ability to perform under strict deadlines
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Ability to work independently on tasks and projects
