As an Associate - Cards Strategic Analytics (Credit Risk Strategy) in CCB Risk Cards Strategic Analytics, you will lead quantitative and qualitative analyses to develop, implement, and monitor credit risk strategies across the card product lifecycle (underwriting, account management, and collections).

You will influence key business decisions by translating complex customer behavior and portfolio performance signals into practical policy recommendations, measurable controls, and senior-ready insights. You will operate at the center of Risk Management and Compliance, helping ensure strategies remain within risk appetite, aligned to regulatory expectations, and focused on long-term portfolio performance.

Job responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end analytics to measure, challenge, and improve key business initiatives, generating solutions independently
  • Define clear problem statements, hypotheses, and success metrics to evaluate risks, opportunities, and trade-offs
  • Develop and refine credit program policies, strategies, processes, and procedures within the assigned function
  • Analyze customer and portfolio performance trends using statistical, data mining, and quantitative methodologies
  • Conduct root-cause deep dives to diagnose performance shifts and identify actionable levers across the lifecycle
  • Design ongoing monitoring and reporting to detect emerging trends in origination quality and portfolio health
  • Translate complex analytical results into concise recommendations, executive-level materials, and stakeholder-ready narratives
  • Partner cross-functionally to secure stakeholder buy-in and drive implementation from concept through rollout
  • Strengthen operational controls by identifying gaps, proposing enhancements, and validating strategy execution outcomes
  • Support the risk management framework by documenting approach, maintaining governance discipline, and ensuring alignment to requirements
  • Monitor internal/external behavioral signals, industry trends, and regulatory developments to continuously improve risk processes
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Econometrics)
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in analytics, risk strategy, consulting, business analysis, or related financial/quantitative roles (typically 3-7 years preferred range for this level)
  • Demonstrate strong analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to structure ambiguous problems into executable analyses
  • Apply proficiency in SQL and at least one analytics tool/language such as SAS, Python, or R (Tableau experience acceptable for visualization-focused work)
  • Build clear, accurate, and repeatable monitoring/insight routines to track performance and emerging risk signals
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including preparing executive-level summaries and recommendations
  • Present complex findings with clarity, including concise PowerPoint storytelling and sound business conclusions
  • Manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with strong project management, attention to detail, and follow-through
