Join us as a Portfolio Risk Oversight VP, where you will provide independent second-line oversight and challenge across retail credit risk, stress testing, risk appetite, and climate risk for our U.S. Consumer Bank portfolios. You will lead oversight of retail lending and credit card portfolio stress testing, review credit-loss forecasts and portfolio risk outcomes, and ensure alignment with capital-planning and governance requirements.

You will also oversee risk appetite limits, integrate climate-related considerations into retail risk frameworks, and deliver clear, decision-focused reporting to senior leadership and risk committees. This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in retail banking, retail credit risk, forecasting, impairment modeling, and portfolio analytics while strengthening the controls and strategic decisions that support our consumer banking business.

To be successful as a Portfolio Risk Oversight VP, you should:

  • Experience in stress testing, risk forecasting, impairment modelling, or portfolio risk management

  • Understanding of CECL, IFRS 9, credit loss frameworks, scenario design, and stress testing methodologies

  • Experience in risk appetite, limit setting, portfolio monitoring, and governance reporting

  • Strong analytical capability, including proficiency with SAS, Python, SQL, Excel, or similar analytical tools

  • Proven ability to challenge models, assumptions, methodologies, results, and management overlays

  • Experience working in regulatory, audit, or control environments, including exposure to FRB, FDIC, CCAR, PRA, or internal audit expectations

Other highly valued skills include:

  • Experience with Mandate & Scale or Risk Appetite frameworks

  • Exposure to climate risk analysis or scenario integration

  • Knowledge of US consumer lending portfolios (cards, unsecured lending)

  • Experience interacting with senior governance forums / committees

Purpose of the role

To manage and optimise the bank's overall credit risk exposure by monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the creditworthiness of its lending portfolio.

Accountabilities
  • Monitoring the financial performance and risk profile of the entire lending portfolio, including individual borrowers, sectors, and geographic regions.
  • Analysis of credit trends, identify early warning signs of potential borrowers' issues, and assess the impact of economic and market developments on the portfolio.
  • Development and utilisation of quantitative models and risk forecasting tools to measure and predict potential credit losses.
  • Performance of portfolio stress testing exercises to assess the impact of various economic and market scenarios on the portfolio's risk profile.
  • Definition and setting of portfolio, segment and customer risk appetite, policy and limits. Overseeing first line execution within these parameters.
