Position Summary

Work Arrangement:

The FCRM Quality Assurance Analyst I role is responsible for performing quality assurance (QA) reviews of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) processes within Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM), at frequencies ranging from monthly to quarterly. The role also performs quality control tasks to ensure that suspicious transactions are appropriately identified and documented, and that Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) are correctly filed in accordance with regulatory requirements and agency guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews alerts and work performed by other analysts related to surveillance and monitoring, investigative reviews, the subpoena process, due diligence, and sanctions wire reviews.
  • Escalates alerts, cases, and SARs that do not meet corporate Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) standards, and follows through to resolution.
  • Assists the QA Team Lead with administration of quality assurance requirements and procedures to ensure that standards are maintained and that processes and work adhere to risk-based standards for compliance testing.
  • Assesses inherent risks and mitigating controls in the execution of established procedures set for the AML and sanctions risk management program.
  • Recommends process modifications through actionable reporting of observations and findings.
  • Documents results and maintains QA reports, findings, observations, and correspondence.
  • Coordinates with department leadership on quality assurance findings and recommendations to improve the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of documents and processes.
  • Develops new reviews to support business processes.
  • Provides ad hoc technical and administrative support for the department.
  • Develops close working relationships with others in the department to address and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of investigative experience with specific emphasis on BSA/AML and/or fraud prevention, including 3 years of writing and filing SARs and 1 year of BSA/AML quality assurance.
  • Strong working knowledge of AML, BSA, and OFAC regulations preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on a range of AML and sanctions risk-related activities preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills preferred.
  • Excellent investigative, analytical, and problem resolution skills preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with AML compliance monitoring systems preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-tasking environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook preferred.
