Medical Assistant , Weight Management

Overview

Christiana Care is looking for a Medical Assistant I to join their Weight Management team. This role supports physicians during examination and treatment of patients, whether via virtual or on-site appointments, and encompasses clinical and clerical duties within the medical practice.

• Monday - Wednesday and Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
• Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm

• Greeting and assisting patients on-site, rooming patients, and preparing them for visits by taking and recording vital signs.
• Perform point-of-care testing and support clinicians during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms with essential supplies, complete patient-specific paperwork, and ensure EMRs are up to date with relevant test results.
• Handle patient callbacks with information as directed by providers and follow state guidelines for sterilization of medical equipment.
• Provide documentation assistance during provider examinations and procedures, undertake clerical tasks as assigned, and help patients utilize Christiana Care’s Patient Portal.
• Maintain safety by following departmental safety rules and promptly reporting unsafe conditions or violations.

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by NCCA or ANSI.

• Attention to detail, dependability, excellent communication skills, integrity, and technical skills.

Note: Hourly Pay Range: $19.10 - $27.69. This rate is a good faith estimate of compensation  actual salary will depend on factors including skills, experience, and qualifications.
