Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS) is seeking a Mental Health Counselor to provide school-based services for a local school district in Wilmington, DE. Minimum two year of experience as a Mental Health Counselor.
PerksWe offer competitive rates with compensation for direct AND indirect time. Such as, treatment sessions, documentation, meeting attendance, and report writing.
This is a 1099 Independent contracting position, allowing for greater flexibility.?
PTS provides consistent on-site and off-site mentorship with Clinical Directors and Team Leaders.
School-Based Academy:
We provide the support and community that a new School-Based therapist needs to feel comfortable and to be successful.Lending Library: PTS recognizes the additional expenses in providing evaluation for materials. We have an extensive library of testing tools and assessments for therapist to borrow as needed.
Assist all students in the areas of academic achievement and social/emotional development.
Provide pull-out support to Tier II / III students in the area of social/emotional growth.
Assist and teach students how to manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills.
Assist in creation, development, and implementation of intervention plans based on student need.
Provide short-term counseling and small group counseling to students.
Provide Family Communication and Support and Refer, Consult, and Coordinate with Community Resources and Community Members
Consult with Counselor and Psychologist regarding IEP and 504 Plan supports (may include direct counseling services as needed)
Provide longer-term counseling support and progress monitoring
Assist with Parent/Family Engagement
Conduct home visits related to resource linkage and/or truancy
Utilize the SSWAA National Practice Model and incorporate CASEL 5 SEL Standards into daily practice
Specialize in coordination with state and outside agencies such as DFS, PBH, and Crisis to provide additional support for students and their families
Refer students for long-term support when appropriate.
Collaborate with families/teachers/administrators/community for student success.
Conduct data analysis to identify student issues, needs and challenges within the school.
Participate in school and district committees and initiatives to provide system support.
Assist with crisis management.
Attend district mental health clinician meetings.
Be a team player, an excellent communicator, and have a willingness to work strategically with parents of all students
Minimum of two years working as a school Mental Health Counselor/Social Worker
Ability to establish positive and meaningful relationships with all members of the school community as well as outside service providers
Experience working with students transitioning back to the school building after an outside agency placement
Degree in mental health counseling
MSW, LCSW, LPCMH, or similar
School Social Worker licensure (preferred)
