Nemours is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician III to join our Nemours Children’s Health team in Wilmington, DE.
The Biomedical Equipment Technician III is responsible for expert level troubleshooting, inspecting, repairing, maintaining and calibrating an advanced range of clinical equipment, devices, systems and instruments. This multi-modality, multi-vendor in-house position requires expert level technical expertise. Monitors, mentors and supports BMET I and II position. The role includes participation in on-call rotation.
Essential Functions- Provide expert level technical support for medical equipment used in direct patient care.
- Inspect, maintain, repair, and calibrate a comprehensive range of clinical equipment, devices, systems and instruments.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Routinely interact with clinical health providers to identify and resolve technology-based issues.
- Address organization-level customer service concerns and complaints.
- Prepare required documentation and reports.
- Demonstrate a safety-focused approach to all tasks.
- Practice fiscal responsibility when purchasing parts and services.
- Manage and schedule vendor services as needed.
- Guide clinical staff in the proper operation of medical equipment when necessary.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for medical equipment support.
- Accurately document work performed and maintain detailed equipment records.
- Plan and schedule service and maintenance duties.
- Support vendors during repairs and preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
- Acts as a mentor and trainer for BMET I and II.
- Leads major repairs and complex troubleshooting for high-risk medical devices.
- Develops and implements maintenance strategies for critical equipment.
High School Diploma required;
Associates Degree is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of expert level preventive and corrective maintenance experience is required.
Experience with multiple high-risk modalities is required
