Data Analyst, Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist Lead on the Home Lending Decision Sciences Team, you’ll lead initiatives focused on improving the customer experience and driving efficiencies for the business. You will derive insights about our customer’s journeys, develop and implement innovative strategies and advanced solutions, then tell the story in an effective manner.
Job Responsibilities
- Recognizing and communicating meaningful trends/patterns in data and reporting
- Identifying and validating data sources and serving as a data expert and consultant to the predictive modeling team
- Advising business and technology partners on data-driven opportunities to increase efficiency and improve customer experience
- Proactively interfacing with, and gathering information from, other areas of the business (Operations, Technology, Finance, Marketing)
- Extracting data from various sources and technologies using complex SQL queries
- Summarizing discoveries with solid data support and a quick turnaround
- Ability to influence upward and downward - mentoring junior members of the team and interfacing with business leaders
- Contribute to the critical thinking and thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment
- Combine your talents with a team that prides itself on attention to detail and results
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 6+ years’ experience working in a business strategy and analytics role and a BS degree in a related field
- Substantial experience with SQL (query/procedure writing)
- Experience with at least one of the following versatile, cross-technology tools/languages - Python, SAS, R or Alteryx
- Clear and succinct written and verbal communication - able to frame and present messages for different audiences
- Critical and analytical thinking
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities and projects
- Ability to maintain detail focus and retain big picture perspective
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Master’s degree in relevant field preferred
- Experience in Mortgage Banking or Financial Services industry
Hybrid-60% in-office
