JOB TITLE:
Application Analyst - Discovery
INTERVIEW PROCESS: 2 rounds (including onsite interview - no exceptions)
Our notes on the role:
- Strong cross skill set within application support/troubleshooting, but playing the role of liaison vs. Hands on fix
- Focus is on NON-LAB apps;
Data Clean up on APPS, work with users on issues/liaison back to core IT team for fix - Focus on building out documentation/KB articles
- Hands on w/ Service Now (daily functional use)
- Vendor mgmt/relationships and ability to engage them directly / daily. They won't be negotiating licenses etc, but will be part of those discussions, holding vendors accountable, working with them on any triaged issues on the applications
Job Description:
This role is critical to successfully manage the R&D application landscape, expedite the integration of new research and AI/ML applications, and provide project management support for scientific/research applications.
Key responsibilities:
- Audit, verify and enhance format, accuracy, and completeness of application information in Service Now.
- Generate Knowledgebase articles for IT and end-users, ensuring they are comprehensive and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with scientists and researchers to understand application requirements and facilitate swift testing and evaluation of new applications.
- Ensure new applications comply with cybersecurity, legal, and privacy standards by coordinating with relevant teams.
- Guide data management and structure alignment with other R&D systems to ensure seamless integration.
- Oversee system upgrades and expansions, break/fix point of contact (POC), and vendor engagement.
- Manage project tasks, risks, and timelines effectively.
- Support non-laboratory application and project management.
- Provide administrative support for applications, ensuring smooth operation and compliance with organizational standards.
- Utilize new technologies such as CoPilot and Enterprise chat
GPT to evaluate, document, and monitor application landscape and processes.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT roles, preferably in application management or IT project management.
- Familiarity with Service Management platform.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and compliance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including scientists, infrastructure, cybersecurity, legal, and procurement.
- Interest or experience in research relevant applications such as data analysis and visualization of scientific data.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
Skills:
- Knowledge/awareness of data management and visualization, SQL, AWS cloud computing, and Linux systems.
- Familiarity with Service Now and ITIL processes
- Understanding or familiarity with AI/ML tools
