API System Tester

We are looking for a seasoned System Tester with a strong background in functional, system, and performance testing. The ideal candidate will bring 6–8 years of experience in QA roles, particularly within credit decisioning systems, with hands-on expertise in API testing, automation, and validating complex business logic and data flows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret business and technical requirements to ensure accurate and complete test coverage.
• Design and execute test plans, including functional, integration, and system tests across various data conditions.
• Develop and automate test cases for API endpoints using industry-standard tools.
• Validate rule execution, scorecard logic, and data flow within decisioning platforms such as Power Curve.
• Perform performance and volume testing to evaluate system responsiveness under load.
• Track and manage defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Generate detailed documentation, including test artifacts, evidence, and sign-off reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to verify implementation of business strategies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices, frameworks, and test methodologies.
• Support regression testing cycles for changes and enhancements to existing logic.
• Participate in peer reviews and provide constructive feedback on code and design quality.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Python for test automation and scripting.
• Strong understanding of decisioning systems, particularly in credit card, consumer lending, or banking domains.
• Experience in using tools like JIRA or similar test/defect management platforms.
• Solid grasp of software development and testing life cycles (SDLC, STLC).
• Background in validating business logic against specifications in dynamic environments.
• Clear communication and documentation skills, with an ability to translate technical details into business terms.
