Scheduler Administrator
Location:
Wilmington, Delaware, USA
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Scheduler Administrator to manage and maintain our IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) environments across development, test, and production systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scheduling administration, incident management, and change support, with a proven track record of ensuring successful job execution and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS) environments across development, test, and production systems.
- Create, modify, and manage job streams, jobs, calendars, schedules, and dependencies.
- Monitor daily batch operations to ensure successful job execution and SLA adherence.
- Perform root cause analysis for job failures and implement permanent fixes.
- Proactively monitor scheduler consoles and alerts.
- Respond to batch failures, delays, and performance issues.
- Coordinate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to resolve incidents.
- Follow ITIL based incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Support scheduling changes related to application releases and enhancements.
- Validate new jobs and schedules during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production deployments.
- Maintain rollback and recovery procedures for batch processing.
Mandatory
Skills:
- Extensive experience with Tivoli Workload Scheduler (IWS) is a deal breaker.
- Strong knowledge of job scheduling, monitoring, and incident management.
- Proficiency in ITIL based processes for incident, problem, and change management.
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience with other scheduling tools and technologies.
- Familiarity with application release management and deployment processes.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in scheduler administration and operations.
- Proven experience in managing batch operations and incident resolution.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
