Principal Cloud Architect Overview
We need your talent! Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to joinour Global Software Engineering team.
Our team understands the impact of our work in real-world quality testing and drug development. As a Senior Cloud Architect, you'll be working with technology that empowers scientists to view lab results from anywhere, enabling us to optimize processes across global research sites. Today’s lab instruments can only be viewed from the lab—our mission is to enable scientists to see lab results from anywhere with internet.

We're looking for a passionate Senior Cloud Architect with a talent for building quality software solutions. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment and engage in technical discussions, participate in technical designs, demonstrate problem-solving abilities, and present and share ideas through global collaboration.

ResponsibilitiesThe meaningful work you will be asked to lead:
- Create and document architectural designs following input from stakeholders.
- Architect solutions that comply with industry-specific regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, SOC
2). - Act as architectural design authority and enforce adherence to high-level design and implementation best practices.
- Establish best practices for AWS architectures, security, and Dev Sec Ops .
- Codify use of hexagonal architecture in development practice.
- Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform.
- Drive adherence to unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategy.
- Socialize the architecture, train team members, and update stakeholders on key architecture changes.
- Act as a consultant to teams involved in implementing architectural designs.
- Produce proofs of concept in high-risk areas to de-risk architecture.
- Resolve challenges in complex technical issues.
- Seek out and provide guidance on improving engineering practices and technologies.
- Mentor others on architectural concepts and infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a STEM major with equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of development experience with at least 5 years in a Lead Cloud Architect role.
- Solid experience in application architecture, database architecture, and security.
- Strong experience leading or developing quality, enterprise software products using a structured system development life cycle.
- Proven experience designing and delivering cloud platform solutions, AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Domain-Driven Design of microservices, polyglot storage, Data Meshes, API design, ETL pipelines.
- Proficiency in designing Multi-tenant SaaS applications with high-volume transactions.
- Strong understanding of computer science algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and testing methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across internal and external organizations.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
- Extensive experience with C#, .NET Core.
- Experience with Angular 16+, Typescript, Java script, HTML
5. - Familiar with TOGAF 9 or ISO 42010:2011.
- Domain knowledge of LC/LCMS applications.
- Knowledge and experience with application servers, n-tier applications, database management systems and open-source trends.
