Job Overview
Position:
Associate Category Manager – Feedstock Logistics and Warehousing.
Location:
Wilmington, DE.
Reports to:
Director of Procurement for Titanium Technologies.
The role supports Titanium Ores and Fluorspar procurement for key business units, ensuring efficient supply chains and inventory planning.
- Work closely with Ore and Fluorspar Planner and Buyer to schedule ore shipments per pigment schedule and ore plan.
- Maintain detailed ore and fluorspar shipping and inventory records with high accuracy.
- Collaborate with sites to keep accurate registry of ore and fluorspar inventory for planning.
- Directly manage junior miners and major accounts.
- Negotiate spot purchase orders, develop multi‑year contracts as needed.
- Build supplier relationships and gather market intelligence.
- Monitor offload port activities, warehousing, ground logistics, surveying, and analysis related to fluorspar transportation and ensure contract compliance.
- Analyze expenditures, forecast, and provide optimization ideas based on planned purchases.
- Perform goods receipts to ensure accurate accounting of raw materials.
- Approve invoices related to ore and fluorspar shipping, handling, and logistics.
- Analyze shipping costs and highlight cost‑optimization ideas.
- Monitor supplier loading and Chemours unloading ports for delays and issues; elevate any potential shipping, rail, or barge delays that may cause shortages.
- Analyze site ore and fluorspar handling and warehouse options to identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide view on current and future global dry bulk shipping market.
- Perform modeling and analysis to drive tactical and strategic ore and fluorspar shipping decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.).
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with understanding of supply chain and supply planning processes.
- 5‑7 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement‑related roles.
- SAP user experience.
- Linear programming experience.
