The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations related to shipping, receiving, order picking, staging, loading, and unloading. This role leads a team of warehouse associates, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The Supervisor will be actively involved in the hiring, training, and development of staff, promoting a positive work culture aligned with company values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, picking, staging, and truck loading/unloading to ensure accurate and on-time order fulfillment.
- Ensure outbound shipments meet all temperature control, cold chain, and food safety requirements, including proper packing, labeling, and documentation.
- Complete invoices, Bills of Lading (BOLs), system closeouts, and scheduled pickups in alignment with production and cold storage logistics needs.
- Lead first-shift warehouse teams, overseeing staffing, task assignments, and adherence to cold storage safety and handling procedures.
- Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and proper rotation; utilize M3 ERP for receiving, picking, and inventory movement.
- Provide backup support to the Inventory Coordinator and fill in for the Warehouse Manager as needed to maintain uninterrupted operations.
- Enforce safety standards through equipment inspections, safe operation of powered industrial equipment, and timely reporting of maintenance issues.
- Train, mentor, and cross-train team members on safe, compliant handling of refrigerated and frozen products.
- Track performance, provide coaching and feedback, and support performance reviews; coordinate PTO and shift coverage to ensure operational continuity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, including at least 1 year in a team lead or supervisory role.
- Experience in FDA-regulated facilities preferred; familiarity with SQF or BRC-certified manufacturing environments a plus.
- Hands-on experience with data entry and production systems such as M3, CAT2, or similar ERP/QC platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.
- Effective communicator with solid computer skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic system issues.
- Reliable attendance, positive attitude, and willingness to learn and complete required training.
- Physically able to work in cold storage environments, stand for extended periods, and operate forklifts or other material handling equipment safely.
- The supervisor will be directly involved in hiring, developing, and training production associates in conjunction with company policies, procedures and culture while maintaining high level of employee engagement and dedication to customer service.
