DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the overall workplace safety efforts of CBC by creating and sustaining a safety- focused culture.Develop and maintain health and safety policies and procedures for all areas of the company, and manage CBC’s WorkSTEPS program.Reduce the frequency and severity of motor vehicle accidents, workplace accidents, and personal injury accidents; comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations including US DOT and OSHA.Oversee safety committees. Train members in responsibilities and partner with them to investigate all accidents to determine root cause. Collaborate with committee members on recommendations and follow up on implementation of safety projects and initiatives.Manage driver training programs and all DOT regulations. Oversee CDL licensure certification program and compliance.Develop and manage performance and measurement tools to audit for compliance to safety programs. Collect and analyze data from the periodic audits and report findings to VP of Operations. Recommend corrective actions for deficiencies and monitor execution.Oversee compliance with FMCSA, OSHA, and HAZMAT regulations. Ensure all regulatory training and record-keeping.Review DOT roadside violations and accidents. Partner with insurance carrier on vehicle accidents and work with Fleet Manager to estimate repair costs and damage. Identify root cause and recommend resolution.Develop and maintain the company substance abuse policy and program. Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and the drug free workplace program. Conduct drug awareness training. Responsible for random drug screening program.Establish and maintain integrity of driver qualification standards. Review findings of MVRs and screening results for applicants and employees.Direct the forklift certification program. Investigate forklift accidents and recommend corrective actions.Respond to relevant safety unemployment claims and represent CBC in unemployment hearings.Responsible for all property, damage, and liability claims. Coordinate with carriers by securing documentation and information such as photos, affidavits, and witness statements.Attend continuing education seminars and classes to keep current on regulations.Provide timely routine reports as requested.All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Possess education equivalent to an Associate’s Degree, plus three-five years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Possess the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Possess the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Possess very high reasoning skills including ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Possess the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Possess strong computer skills requiring knowledge of word processing software, e-mail software, spreadsheet software, accounting software, inventory software, order processing systems, project management software, database, and Internet.Possess the ability to maintain regular and punctual in-person attendance to regularly observe safety protocols and behaviors.Possess ability to drive, valid driver’s license, and a driving record compliant with company standards.Possess ability to take calls and respond to emails or texts before and…
