Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing moderate complexity projects or medium-sized components of larger programs. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget by managing resources, schedules, risks, and stakeholder communications. The Project Manager applies advanced technical knowledge and project management expertise to drive successful outcomes while adhering to organizational standards and governance processes.

Functions
  • Define project scope and objectives, secure resources and funding, and manage changes through established governance and change control processes.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and deliverables; coordinate internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Identify, document, and monitor project risks and issues; implement mitigation strategies and escalate as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and vendors; monitor vendor performance and resolve issues through escalation processes.
  • Provide regular analytical reporting on project status, cost, schedule, and risks; maintain project artifacts in compliance with organizational standards and applicable regulations.
  • Identify efficiencies and recommend process improvements to reduce costs and add value.
  • Monitor of vendor's delivery timeline and escalate of vendor related issues through the appropriate escalation process
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience. Plus 3 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience. Plus 5 years of relevant work experience. PMP or willing to acquire a PMP within one year of hire date

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies; ability to manage schedules, budgets, and governance processes. Proven ability to manage medium complexity projects involving multiple departments and dependencies. Ability to analyze project data, identify risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration. Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-organizational teams.

The salary/hourly range is $78,600.00 – $. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
