Ashland Specialty Ingredients invites qualified individuals to join our Aquarius Film Coatings business in Wilmington, Delaware as a Plant Process Engineer.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Plant and Quality Manager to establish annual goals and objectives for the site.
  • Collaborate with Research and Development on new product introductions.
  • Develop new blending procedures to adapt to new ingredients and formulations.
  • Create and issue batch manufacturing instructions, and perform color matching of existing products to specified standards.
  • Use statistical methods for color matching and process optimization to maintain and improve quality and yields.
  • Identify and implement projects to achieve cost savings and resolve long‑term operational safety and quality issues.
  • Investigate customer complaints in partnership with operations, quality, and R&D to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Support the Allen‑Bradley PLC system and participate in internal and external GMP audits.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the site.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Science, Engineering, Pharmaceutical or a related discipline.
  • One to five years of experience in chemical manufacturing or a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Prior cGMP manufacturing experience, including ISO 9001, FSSC
    22000, IPEC, or FDA Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to respond appropriately during site emergencies as directed by the Site Emergency Manager.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with color matching.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with manufacturing, quality control, and leadership team members.
  • Ability to identify critical issues, formulate action plans with all levels of management, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Ability to identify quality improvement opportunities and implement action plans.
  • Exceptional work planning and problem‑solving skills.
Other Requirements

Must be able to perform physical activities that include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 lbs., or reaching, depending on the work activity required. Work is performed in an office/plant environment with frequent trips to the operating areas. The position may require international travel and must be authorized to work in the United States.
