“Sunday Quiche House Ministry” every Sunday at 7am.
Updated 1/27/2026.
Thanks to a significant partnership with Friendship House , SsAM hosts hospitality on Sunday mornings at 7am featuring the “quiche” egg casserole made famous by Bill Perkins, former Executive Director of Friendship House.
On Fridays, two chefs (Andrew Meakin and our own Paul Tanner) plus two volunteers prepare the casseroles on in the SsAM kitchen. This work takes about two hours starting seroles include eggs, cheese, veggies, frozen hash brown potatoes, and non-pork protein. Note that many of our patrons do not eat pork. Some alternatives are ground turkey, beef sausage or beef hot dogs.
On Sundays, rotating teams of Friendship House volunteers from our church and other churches and organizations serve the casseroles. A Friendship House/Limen Recovery staff member is on hand to coordinate the effort. Coffee and tea are available. We serve 70-120 people every Sunday.
How can you get involved? To volunteer to work on-site, use the Sign Up Genius links below. Friendship House needs two volunteers to assist with preparation of the casseroles on Fridays and 3 or 4 volunteers to serve breakfast on Sundays.
Fridays: Please arrive between 11 and 11:30 a.m. NOTE that the parking lot is not available on Fridays for parking. There is a paid Colonial lot across Orange Street or use paid on-street parking.
Sundays: volunteers are needed from 6:30 a.m. to about 10 a.m. There will be two 2-hour shifts. The parking lot is available.
Veggies, bagged shredded cheese, frozen hash brown potatoes, and/or non-pork protein for the quiche to serve 100 people. We already have eggs that are graciously donated to us. Donations of coffee, tea, creamer, and sugar are welcome. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there are any questions. Thank you! Jayla Hill Friendship House Volunteer Coordinator.
Your financial support allows Friendship House and SsAM to purchase the ingredients for the casseroles and the other supplies which will be needed. It can be mailed to church, dropped off at the office, or put in the offering plate. Or to use our secure on-line donation portal.
