Description
Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the team on our Labor and Delivery floor. The Labor and Delivery floor is a 9 bed unit that cares for various patients including high‑risk pregnancies and complications such as gestational diabetes, hypertension, preterm labor, multiple births, and other complications. All registered nurses are trained to scrub and circulate for C‑sections, perform phlebotomy and IV insertion, and work with our 24/7 anesthesia and obstetric availability.
Evidence‑based initiatives such as preterm labor assessment tools and protocols for preventing primary C‑sections and severe hypertension in pregnancy are part of our care standards.

Shift12‑Hour Night Shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am, 36 hours per week, every other weekend and rotating holidays)
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments of women during the ante‑partum period who experience complications of pregnancy, including preterm labor, premature rupture of membranes, pregnancy‑induced hypertension, diabetes, bleeding, and infection.
- Assess women's educational needs during the intrapartum period and provide appropriate information to the woman and her family.
- Plan and deliver care for women who experience labor and birth without complications.
- Plan and deliver care for women with perinatal or medical complications such as pregnancy‑induced hypertension, preterm labor, bleeding in pregnancy, and multiple gestations.
- Provide supportive care to the woman and her family in situations involving fetal loss or fetal abnormalities.
- Plan and deliver care for women who labor without analgesia or anesthesia.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Delaware or a valid temporary permit.
- BSN preferred.
- BLS required; NRP within six months of employment.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
- RNC preferred.
- Ability to scrub and circulate for C‑sections.
