Adelphi is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide in-person, one-to-one school health services to students within a school setting in Wilmington, North Carolina. The RN will assess and manage student health needs, develop individualized health plans, administer authorized medications and treatments, respond to medical emergencies, and collaborate with families, school staff, and healthcare providers to support students' health, safety, and access to education.

Requirements
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
  • Pediatric, public health, school nursing, emergency care, or related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate student health conditions.
  • Develop and maintain individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic or complex health conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or otherwise properly authorized.
  • Perform nursing procedures requiring professional clinical judgment.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate appropriate emergency care.
  • Conduct health screenings and nursing assessments.
  • Monitor student health and communicate changes or concerns to appropriate school personnel, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers.
  • Train and supervise school personnel, as appropriate, regarding medication administration and health-related procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential health records and nursing documentation.
  • Participate in IEP and Section 504 meetings when health services or accommodations are relevant.
  • Delegate nursing tasks only when permitted under applicable North Carolina requirements.
  • Follow applicable district health, safety, emergency, and reporting procedures.
