Veterinary Technician (Full-time/Part-time)

About the PositionWe are seeking to add an experienced Veterinary Technician to our team. Our hospital provides exceptional veterinary care and support to our community’s pets.
Pay Range$18.00/hr - $22.00/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience)
Responsibilities & Skills- Assist and support the Veterinarian with all duties; perform and accurately record evaluations, examinations, vaccinations, and medical treatments.
- Phlebotomy; obtain and properly handle/prepare in-house and outside laboratory specimens; IV catheter placement, general microscope, and centrifuge use.
- Prepare animals for exams and surgical procedures, monitor anesthesia, and communicate with DVM during critical patient evaluation.
- Perform routine dental prophylaxis, capture digital dental x-rays.
- Radiography; take digital radiographs of animals both awake and anesthetized.
- Pharmaceutical; accurately dispense and track medications; general knowledge of medications.
- Perform medical treatments as designated; administer medications.
- Assist with humane euthanasia.
- Ensure medical records and billing are up to date and correct; perform light administrative and receptionist duties; general nightly hospital clean up.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
- Be able to lift animals that weigh 50 lbs and assist with heavier animals.
Position includes shifts throughout the work week, rotational weekends, and on-call coverage on holiday rotations.
