Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct incoming inspections of raw materials, purchased components, and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer requirements, and quality specifications.
  • Perform dimensional, visual, and functional inspections using approved measuring equipment and inspection methods.
  • Document inspection findings accurately and communicate non‑conforming conditions to the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain accurate inspection and test records.
  • Input inspection results into SAP, databases, spreadsheets, or other quality systems as required.
  • Verification of materials/components as needed.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and maintain associated documentation.
  • Perform periodic box audits, product audits, and process verification activities within production segments.
  • Verify compliance to work instructions, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Identify quality concerns, trends, or opportunities for improvement and communicate findings to the appropriate departments.
  • Assist with containment activities related to quality issues as needed.
  • Assist in monitoring, analyzing, and documenting internal rejects, scrap, and non‑conforming material trends.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action activities related to quality issues.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to improve product quality and reduce defects.
  • Assist in gathering and reporting quality data, metrics, and related reports.
  • Support quality‑related training initiatives and promote quality awareness throughout the facility.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities including Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and problem‑solving initiatives.
  • Support ISO, quality systems, and process improvement activities as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Support customer, supplier, and internal audit activities as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager to support quality objectives and operational goals.
Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing and/or quality inspection experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, standards, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to properly use and handle measurement gauges and inspection equipment: calipers, micrometers, other precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with suppliers, management, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and effectively in a team environment.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, SAP Quality Management, ISO 9001, calibration systems, inspection methods, Lean Manufacturing, and Kaizen initiatives.
