Job SummaryThe Research Scientist – Catalysis Development will be part of the Enabling Technologies team. In this position, scientists will develop innovative catalysts (both homogeneous and heterogeneous) and synthetic methodologies to access novel OLED materials. The position also involves modeling, design, and synthesis of organic and organometallic compounds with an emphasis on researching the properties of the materials in the context of OLED display engineering.
In this role, you will collaborate with chemists and engineers to optimize syntheses and molecular properties to improve OLED materials and devices.
- Lead catalysis development effort within the Enabling Technologies team, including, but not limited to identifying new catalyst trends, developing novel catalysts for various bond formation strategies relevant to OLED materials.
- Develop molecular assembly strategies to enable access to advanced OLED molecules and drive down cost of goods.
- Coordinate with OLED chemistry coworkers to identify and solve synthetic challenges. Design innovative materials and develop in-depth knowledge of organic electronic material properties, synthesis and display applications.
- Perform design, synthesis, purification, analysis and characterization of small to medium scale organic and/or organometallic compounds.
- Implement modern catalytic and data-driven synthetic methods to access novel organic and/or organometallic compounds.
- Collaborate with chemists and engineers to improve materials and devices. Stay up to date with scientific literature.
- Be able to write and interpret technical information and effectively communicate with peers within the team and across the organization. Job Description
- Accurately record experimental work within the electronic notebook(s).
