Research Lab Manager (Finance)
Nemours is seeking a Research Lab Manager to join our team in Wilmington, DE.
Dr. Iffland's laboratory at Nemours seeks a highly motivated Part Time (20hrs/week) Research Lab Manager to conduct research for both internally and externally funded projects of interest in a multi-PI laboratory setting. This position will work under Department of Neurology. The position will have primary reporting to Dr Iffland.
An MS degree in cellular and molecular biology is preferred with experience working with rodents and cultured cells.
The lab manager carrier out the administrative duties in the lab in conjunction with the PI including ordering, inventory, compliance monitoring/documentation, and training of new lab members. In addition, the lab manager will help organize and plan projects with PI and or senior lab staff, set up and performs new, routine, and established lab procedures in support of lab goals and grant commitments (i.e., assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc).
Collects, enters, summarizes and analyzes experimental data that is used for presentations at local, regional, national or international meetings was well as manuscripts and grant applications. Monitors results, reports unusual outcomes/errors and suggests modifications to laboratory processes. Leads in the maintenance of lab equipment. Leads in the inventory of materials, reagents and specimens. Provides advanced safety monitoring and oversight in the laboratory.
Participates and may present at research laboratory meetings and may contribute to writing of manuscripts

- Ability to present data during lab meetings and conferences.
- Adherent to research compliance rules and regulations
- Experience working with patients with rare neurological disorders
- MS in the field of Cellular and Molecular Biology with some experience working with small animals and cultured cells (desired)
- At least one year of relevant experience. Experience in, and passion all for, epilepsy research preferred.
This position is contingent upon funding.
