Job Title: Security Officer (Union/Casual)

Reporting to: Security Manager

• Patrolling grounds to protect and maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Patrols Port Wilmington grounds to maintain traffic control, detect criminal violations, and detect safety hazards.
• Ensure the facility is provided with high-quality security services to protect people and property.
• Report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing.
• Make frequent inspections of all Port facilities, including parking areas, offices, warehouses, piers, and rail areas.
• Work closely with the United States Coast Guard and Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies.
• Record details of patrols.
• Escort visitors, oversize vehicles, and equipment from gates to the destination on the property as necessary.
• Assist at Port entry gates.
• Overtime may be required to maintain patrol operations.
• Shift work may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Educational Background: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Technical Qualification / Certification: Must participate in Teamster Union;
  Valid TWIC Card Required;
  Valid Driver’s License Required.

One (1) to Two (2) years of experience in the maritime industry preferred.

The position facilitates the safe and effective operations of Port Wilmington, through full time day patrol of the port’s facilities. This position will perform a broad range of activities depending on the needs of the port and department.

• Ensures that all health, safety, and security protocols are enforced and observed in all Company’s activities to protect the employees and the public.
• Compliance with all applicable laws and relevant industry standards of practice and commitment to the continuous improvement of HSSE management practices.
• Provides strong visible commitment, leadership, and personal involvement in health, safety, security, and the environment and makes available the resources necessary to achieve our HSSE objectives.
• Ensures activities and duties are consistent with Port Wilmington policies on SQF and FSMA.

Required to perform shift work which may include days, evenings, and nights including weekends and holidays. Mandatory overtime is required as needed in order to maintain effective and efficient patrol operations.
