TITLE: Maintenance A - Journeyman/Plumber

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

LOCATION: 1798 Limestone Road, Wilmington, Delaware

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide major repair & preventative maintenance related to assigned skill

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for major maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs relating to plumbing in the schools, including all phases of hardware installations.

Perform all phases of plumbing related shop work.

Handle maintenance requests as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or his designate and paperwork involved in completion of assignment such as inspection reports, long-range maintenance proposals.

Ability to obtain quotes from vendors for materials and accurately estimate the amount of materials required to do a specific assignment.

Must be capable of performing all types of plumbing.

Must be physically able to carry equipment, climb ladders, work from scaffolding and use the necessary tools to perform duties in a due and timely manner.

Other related duties as assigned including, but not limited to plumbing, carpenters, electricians, heating, ventilation and cooling system mechanics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal trade school training or equivalent acceptable to the District /Preferred

Demonstrated ability to perform the tasks in their specific craft.

Physical ability to perform above duties

Five years of experience in the field as a Journeyman

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Evaluation Procedure of the District.

SALARY: Commensurate with the Red Clay Consolidated School District's salary schedule.
