Job Summary

Join Ecolab as a Pest Control Technician in a dual function pest control and fumigation role. You will complete a 7‑week paid training program and work in the field providing pest elimination and fumigation services to commercial customers.

Responsibilities
  • Work with hospitality and other commercial businesses to identify and solve pest problems.
  • Keep up to date with Ecolab products and industry conditions to enhance service and sales of pest prevention and elimination solutions.
  • Use handheld computerized equipment to manage service records and gas monitoring equipment during fumigations.
  • Assist with the complete fumigation process: sealing, tarping, introduction of fumigant, fume readings, aeration, and degassing of facilities.
  • Read and follow labels and MSDS for hazardous chemicals, and maintain PPE.
  • Follow safety protocols, OSHA mandates, and customer‑specified guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment for fumigation management services, including electronic data recording and reporting.
Position Details

The training program includes travel to Ecolab Corporate Headquarters in Saint Paul, Minnesota for one week and in‑field training for the remaining weeks. The role is field‑based with travel to Wilmington, DE and surrounding areas.

Work schedule:

Monday‑Friday combination shift, 50% day, 50% overnight (9/10 pm–5/6 am).

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of work or military experience.
  • Current valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • Willingness to be on‑call, work overnight shifts, and travel 50% or more overnight.
  • Ability to understand and interpret English labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card, CDL with hazmat endorsement, and required pest certifications or licenses.
  • Background check and drug test (including THC) required for all candidates receiving a job offer.
  • Immigration sponsorship not available.
Physical Demands
  • Wearing and using respirator or self‑contained breathing apparatus.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying up to 70 pounds chest high.
  • Working in confined spaces, damp or dusty locations, freezing and hot conditions, extreme heights up to 150 ft, and using ladders, scissor lifts, or aerial boom lifts.
  • Performing lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, climbing, using hands and fingers, balancing, walking, standing, talking, hearing.
  • Driving a company vehicle as required with ongoing vehicle record checks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Previous pest elimination industry or route experience.
  • Experience with reading product labels, calculating and mixing accurate concentrations of chemicals, and following all label requirements.
Compensation

Annual or hourly compensation range: $51,200 – $76,700.
