Overview
Johnson Controls is seeking skilled HVAC Servicemen to join our growing business in the building technology OEM space for healthcare, manufacturing, education, and commercial real estate. The role focuses on commissioning, servicing, and maintaining advanced commercial HVAC equipment, providing customer advisory and support.
Responsibilities- Consult with customers on comfort, building inefficiency, and service‑related issues.
- Use factory certification training via the Service Technical Academy, including milestone recognition and monetary rewards.
- Equip with safety equipment, uniforms, tools, cell phone, technical equipment and a work vehicle.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
- Recommend solutions to improve customer system reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Prepare labor and material quotes for recommended solutions.
- Participate in weekend, night, and holiday call‑out service on a rotating basis.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
- Knowledge of maintenance and repair of three‑phase commercial HVAC equipment, rooftop units (RTUs), heat pumps, and fans.
- Valid driver’s license.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to join the UA of Plumbers and Pipe fitters.
- Preferred:
Five (5) years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience and knowledge of pumps, variable frequency drives (VFDs), air handling units, and rooftop units.
Hourly rate of $30.59 as determined by the collective bargaining agreement. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. Incentives are available for executed recommendations that are quoted.
