The Maintenance Technician supports one or multiple apartment properties maintaining routine service requests as well as preventative maintenance.  He/she will be responsible for completing this work safely and timely to provide our residents with superior customer service. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician for our apartment community in Wilmington, DE.**$1000 SIGN ON BONUS

** Duties and

Responsibilities include:

*** Exhibiting strong commitment to the service needs of the internal and external customer
* Communicating and working well with both leasing and maintenance staff members
* Always representing the company in a professional and courteous manner
* Perform routine maintenance tasks, service requests, turnovers, preventative maintenance to units and common areas as well as any other duties assigned
* Sharing on-call responsibility
* Diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical and plumbing related issues
* Providing own (basic) hand tools
* Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
* Attending in-house training as required
* Maintaining current preventative maintenance property logs## Qualifications
** The ideal candidate will have:
*** Demonstrate the appropriate and safe use of standard hand and power tools
* Lifting and moving heavy items (water heaters, appliances, rock salt, etc.)
* Be able to shovel and salt as required
* Perform routine, preventative maintenance
* Knowledge and practice of a variety of building trade skills
* Be able to work on step/extension ladders and roofs while following safety protocols
* Able and willing to lift objects as required
* Keep track of inventory and maintain a clean and stocked shop
* Complete work orders in a timely manner
* Identify safety and hazardous conditions and communicate any issues
* Follow company operational and safety procedures
* Ability to work an on-call schedule as required
* A positive, team-oriented attitude and understand and follow Westover Companies core values
* Reliable work ethic and dependable transportation; must maintain valid driver’s license and working vehicle
