Job Description

As a Field Service Technician, you will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy construction equipment both in the field and in the shop. You will service a wide range of machinery including excavators, bulldozers, front‑end loaders, graders, rollers, and trucks, ensuring safe and reliable operation across active construction sites.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy construction equipment in the field and shop.
  • Service machinery including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, rollers, and trucks.
  • Complete oil changes, lubrication, hydraulic hose repairs, and replacement of wear components.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure safety, performance, and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate service records and communicate repairs with site personnel.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely while adhering to all company and job site safety standards.
  • Work independently to prioritize tasks and minimize equipment downtime.
Skills/Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience servicing heavy equipment, automotive, agricultural, or similar machinery.
  • Strong mechanical skills, including diesel engines, brakes, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and use of hand/power tools.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a field service environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to safety.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, DE.

Work Environment
