Overview
What do our Pest Control Technicians do? The primary purpose of this role is to perform industry‑leading pest management services for residential customers. You will be responsible for identifying and eliminating pests from residential properties through inspections, determining infestation types, applying treatments such as pesticides and traps, and providing preventative measures while adhering to safety regulations and communicating with clients.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough inspections of client properties to identify signs of pest infestations, damage, and entry points.
- Apply approved pest control products, including chemicals, baits, and traps, in accordance with safety standards.
- Educate customers on pest prevention methods and the importance of maintaining a pest‑free environment.
- Provide advice on reducing the risk of future infestations.
- Build relationships with customers, schedule and confirm appointments, assist with sales to current customers, and expand our product base to new customers.
- Ensure pest control equipment is properly maintained, stocked, and in good working condition.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pest control products and safety protocols.
- Drive and safely operate a company‑provided service vehicle (routine maintenance provided).
- Work in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways.
- Work around animals, insects, termites, mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals.
- Work both inside and outside in local climate with company‑provided weather gear.
- Engage in frequent movement—sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, stair and ladder use, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including an OSHA‑compliant respirator.
- Clean shaven face for safety reasons (rebreathers must seal the face).
- High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
- Required licenses/certificates as mandated by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by the company).
- Availability to work Monday‑Friday and weekends as needed.
- Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest control.
- Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math skills for following instructions on product labels.
- Customer‑facing experience preferred.
