Position: Sr Mobile Diesel Mechanic Mon - Sat 8 am - 4pm

Title:

Senior Mobile Diesel Technician – DOT Management Level.

Location:

Must reside in specified city, state, or region. Travel required 100% of the time.
Shift: Monday–Saturday, 8:00am–4:00pm (variable). Remote work is possible but location constraint applies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose vehicle equipment (electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engine (gas & diesel), transmissions, clutches, differentials, air conditioning, etc.) using test instruments and road testing.
  • Adjust and repair vehicle equipment, manage parts inventory, and reconcile usage.
  • Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
  • Document work on Repair Orders (RO) and upload pictures via TRAIT application.
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and all other required documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Work independently, manage own daily schedule, prioritize tasks, and communicate with customers and management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED plus 5 years of related experience. (Alternative: any level degree/certification beyond HS plus 3 years of experience; 7 years in field also acceptable.)
  • Must possess hand tools necessary for job duties.
  • Must obtain ASE T8 (PMI) and ASE 608/609 certifications within 18 months.
  • Must pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical; valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining acceptable.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.
  • Safe driving record required.
Preferred Certifications
  • ASE T2 (Diesel Engines), T3 (Drivetrain), T4 (Brakes), T5 (Suspension), T6 (Electrical & Electronic Systems), T7 (HVAC), A8 (Engine Performance), L1 (Advanced Engine Performance Specialist), L2 (Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist)
Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; perform moderately heavy labor.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; able to provide clear information to customers and team.
  • Logical reasoning and problem‑solving; determine appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Physical endurance for repetitive tasks and extended work periods.
