Field Service Technician - Philadelphia, PA Workweeks & Company Vehicle

Job Overview

Field Service Technician – supports Hach’s mission to ensure water quality worldwide. Reports to the Field Service Manager and delivers high‑quality customer service by performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of Hach devices at municipal and industrial sites.

• Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
• Promote a positive customer experience and serve as the on‑site customer contact for technical and service‑related problems.
• Work in a wide variety of municipal and industrial settings, including drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities, and optionally hazardous locations.
• Submit prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
• Follow safe work practices according to company policy.
• Execute administrative activities in support of service visits.
• Travel to customer sites within the Philadelphia area with up to 75% overnight stays; company‑paid travel, accommodations, and meals are provided for overnight stays.

• Previous experience in a travel‑based field service and/or customer‑facing role strongly preferred.
• H.S. Diploma required;
  Associates/technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
• Basic mechanical aptitude; experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair is helpful but not required.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to rent vehicles and book hotel rooms for business travel.

• Comprehensive 10‑week training: 8 weeks in the field with a dedicated trainer and 2 weeks of classroom training in Loveland, CO.
• Work schedule of 4 shifts per week at 10‑hour days after training; 3 days off per week.
• Company car (maintenance/fuel paid for by us) and company cell phone.
