This role supports installation of complex integrated security systems and related components for clients.
Responsibilities- Install complex integrated security systems, including wiring, equipment, and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems.
- Install cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations in accordance with the National Electrical Code and company/customer guidelines.
- Use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot installation problems; read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and manuals.
- Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and conduct system checks for proper operation.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize work with attention to detail; communicate effectively, orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships.
- Perform documentation and administrative tasks related to job assignments; complete and submit required paperwork.
- Operate hand and power tools to mount and secure equipment; feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavities; terminate cables and wires; drill holes as needed.
- Deliver end-user training and isolate trouble to customer networks where applicable.
- Work independently to complete installation jobs and maintain self-motivation to finish projects.
- Required:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; 3+ years of experience with digital and analog camera systems; 3+ years of experience with access control systems; understanding of alarm system design and function; 2+ years with IP addressable security devices; strong TCP/IP networking skills; ability to operate a company vehicle with an acceptable driving record. - Preferred:
Associate degree or 2-year technical program; industry-recognized apprentice program; specialized training or certifications in Access Control, CCTV (Analog/IP), Visitor Management; additional experience such as MCSE, CCNA, Surveillance Systems, Intrusion Detection, Perimeter Intrusion Detection, and Security Gate Operators.
- Hiring hourly range: $24 - $32. Benefits are included. The posted salary range reflects target compensation and may be adjusted based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, internal equity, and market data.
