The DuPont Country Club is currently looking for a Summer Camp Assistant Director to join our team and focus on providing the highest quality of service for our membership in our Summer Camp. The Sports Camp Assistant Director is responsible for collaborating with the Sports Camp Director in planning and administrating the camp program to meet goals and objectives. You will assist with a variety of daily tasks, all with the goal of creating a memorable and safe camp experience for all kids!

In addition, this role will have the following responsibilities:

  • Work with and assist in the supervision of counselors in a supportive manner.
  • Complete and submit daily and weekly administrative tasks.
  • Greet families and campers upon arrival and help orientate them to camp.
  • Establish rules with campers and staff and review emergency procedures.
  • Manage parent expectations by knowing your campers and conversing with parents at pick‑up and drop‑off times.
  • Assist Sports Camp Director in managing any non‑staff issues that may arise including, but not limited to camper behavior issues, parent complaints, etc.
The successful candidate will have/be:
  • Ability to delegate and to take satisfaction from getting a job done through others
  • Experience teaching or working with children
  • Administrative and supervisory experience
  • Background and/or experience in directing a camp operation preferred
  • Skill in human relations and communications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • Assistant Summer Camp Director must be 21 years of age as of May 1st 2026
  • Typical availability from 10:45am to 5:45pm

Monday through Friday availability from Monday, June 8, 2026, through Friday, August 21, 2026. Time in advance of June 8th for planning schedules and administration. Mandatory orientation on Saturday, May 30th and Sunday, May 31st.
