Mainframe developer

The Mainframe Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications using COBOL and related technologies.

This role involves working with legacy systems and modernizing components to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.

The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications and ensure seamless integration with other systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and MQ.
• Analyze and debug complex programs using tools such as Expeditor.
• Work with IMS DB and ensure efficient data handling and storage.
• Utilize File Aid, Stored Procedures, Endevor, CA-7, NDM, MFTS, and s-FTP for development and deployment processes.
• Support XML-based data exchange and scripting using CLIST and REXX.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure code quality, performance optimization, and adherence to best practices.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Mainframe Application/COBOL development.
• At least 7 years of experience in CICS, DB2, VSAM, and MQ application development.
• Proficiency in debugging tools such as Expeditor.
• Strong understanding of mainframe utilities and tools including File Aid, Stored Procedures, Endevor, CA-7, NDM, MFTS, and s-FTP.
• Familiarity with XML, CLIST, and REXX scripting.

• Experience with IMS DB.
